R + L = J?

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE!

Shut the tab now if you are't up to date on the show Game of Thrones on HBO, none of what I say applies specifically to the books because they have deviated so far now I am beginning to view the show as a stand alone series. Read further for SPOILERS

With many characters and even more unpronounceable/forgetful names, Game of Thrones is one of my all time favourite TV shows. Blatant nudity and swearing coupled with dragons, magic and a threat of what is basically a zombie invasion (see Wights) makes this show, not only memorable but also a rollercoaster ride of emotions. You get attached to characters and more often than not, those characters meet their untimely death in a horrific fashion. Personally, the latest episode was almost too much, even though it was probably the least horrific death in the entire series, it was filmed in such a way that I was actually repulsed. "Oathbreaker" had me on the edge of my seat, practically yelling at the screen!

With that out of the way, let's talk one of the show's favourite characters: Jon Snow

Jon Snow, bastard turned Night's Watch Lord Commander, had been murdered and brought back to life. He has now left the Night's Watch and we are interested to see where he goes next... But that isn't what I want to talk about. His future will be shown, but his past? That has been hidden to viewers since the beginning.

R + L = J

A theory that EVERY GoT fan knows. The origins of Jon Snow have not been revealed however in season 6 we are getting little hints and teasers about his past. I personally do not believe even in the middle of war Eddard Stark would have cheated on his wife. His biggest character trait is honor! SO where did Jon come from?

Rheagar Targaryan + Lyanna Stark = Jon freaking Snow!

This makes him born of ice (stark lineage, Warden's of the North) and fire (Targaryan lineage + dragons), which is another set of prophecies I do not want to explore right now. However, it also makes him descendant of two royal bloodlines, and would be Rheagar's only surviving child. To make the theory even more likely is that Rheagar fell in love with Lyanna and kidnapped her (while he had a wife and two children mind...) she is later found in a bed scattered with her own blood by her brother Eddard and her last words are "promise me, Ned" to look after the child perhaps? Not Ned Stark's bastard son, but rather... His nephew!

DUN Dun duun! xox
